5.2-degree earthquake hits Mexico

An earthquake of 5.2 degree on the Richter scale hit Mexico City and some
areas in the central and southern parts of the country yesterday, Mexico's
official news agency Notimex quoted the country's seismologist authority as
saying. According to preliminary information, the earthquake occurred at
17:46 p.m. local time (2346 GMT). Its epicenter was at the coast of the
southwest state of Guerrero. The quake shocked tourists at the beach of the
city of Acapulco, activated the seismic alarm and forced some buildings to be
evacuated.
