Nepali gov't forms commission to investigate air crash accident

The Nepali government has formed a five-member commission to investigate into the air crash accident of Twin-otter of Yeti Airlines, in which 18 people were killed at Lukla Airport yesterday morning.
According to the National News Agency RSS today's report, the commission will present its report within two months from the date of its formation.
A Yeti Airlines domestic plane made a crash-landing after catching fire yesterday morning while landing at Lukla airport, east of the Nepali capital Kathmandu.
Mohan Adhikari, general manager of Nepali Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport on behalf of the related Nepali aviation authority, said at a press conference that 18 people died in the accident.
Mohan Adhikari said the 18 dead include two crew members, 12 German passengers, two Australian passengers and two Nepali passengers, while the only one still alive is a Nepali co-pilot. The injured is treated in Kathmandu hospital.
Lukla airport is gateway to Mt. Qomolangma (Mt. Everest), some 140 km east of Kathmandu.
International tourists are coming to Nepal at the beginning of October, the end of Nepali monsoon season.
