US soldier killed in Iraq's Diyala

An American soldier was killed by indirect fire attack in the volatile province of Diyala, the US military said today.
The military said in a statement that the incident occurred yesterday in the province which stretches from the eastern edges of Baghdad to the Iranian border with Iraq.
The indirect fire attack in the terms of US military statements refers to mortar or rocket attacks.
About 4,185 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U. S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
