Mexican soldiers seize some US$900,000 at northeastern border

Mexican soldiers seized nearly US$900,000 from four people trying to enter
the United States in the border city of Nuevo Laredo, northeastern Tamaulipas
state, Mexico's National Defense Ministry said in a communique yesterday. The
seizure took place Saturday aboard a passenger bus at the control checkpoint of
the international bridge Juarez-Lincoln in Nuevo Laredo, said the
communique. The Mexican soldiers detained four people, who were the only
passengers on the bus. The detainees had a total of US$886,481 in bills of
different value, packed in 48 bags and hidden on the roof of the bus. The
detained were identified as Ricardo Luna Lucio (27), Victor Hugo Luna de Leon
(39), Tomas Macias Gaona (34) and Israel Sanchez (55).
