Young Americans gather near White House to celebrate Obama's victory
5/11/2008 17:00

Hundreds of thousands of young Americans flooded in front of the White House late yesterday to celebrate Barack Obama's historic election win.
"Yes, we did," "Change, we need," or "No more Bush," people chanted. Most of them were students from Washington-area universities.
"It is a historic victory, and it will bring the change we want," a George Town University student named James told Xinhua, referring to Obama's landslide victory in the US presidential election yesterday.
Early exit polls showed that young voters were supporting Obama by a 2-1 margin, with his greatest support coming from black and Hispanic young people.
