DPRK top leader congratulates top woman soccer player's

Kim Jong Il, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), offered a wedding feast for the newlywed of the top woman soccer player, the official Rodong Sinmun daily said yesterday.

Ri Kum Suk, captain of the DPRK women soccer team, vowed to tryher best to win more glories for the country on the wedding ceremony held on Monday.

The 30-year-old soccer star led the DPRK to the titles of the 14th Asian Women's Cup, the 15th Asian Games and the 4th World Military Games. She was named the 2007 Asian Women's Player of the year.

Ri was also granted the title of "People's athlete" of the DPRK, top award for the DPRK players. The DPRK government offered her a limousine and an apartment for her contribution to the country.

The newspaper didn't elaborate the bridegroom Pak Chung Hyok.
