Peru and Bolivia will step up efforts to combat smuggling and drug
trafficking along border areas to enhance security cooperation, Peruvian Defense
Minister Antero Flores Araoz said on Monday. Araoz said that he will visit
Bolivia from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, when he will meet his Bolivian counterpart
Walker San Miguel to discuss the issue. "We are going to strength and deepen
cooperative ties between both countries, we have a large border, a lake
(Titicaca) in common and we have to keep them safe," Flores-Araoz said. The
two defense ministers will hold talks in La Paz, the administrative capital in
western Bolivia.
