Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone yesterday condemned the deadly

against terrorism. The Japanese government set up a liaison office to gather
information and coordinate a response to the incident at the crisis management
center in the prime minister's office. One Japanese was killed and another
Japanese was injured in a series of attacks in Mumbai, while the whereabouts of
about 50 out of the 250-260 Japanese residents and travelers in the area have
not been confirmed, a Foreign Ministry official said today. At least 80
people were reported dead in near-simultaneous attacks in the Indian financial
