A new poll released yesterday showed that most of the Thai people
felt ashamed of the country's current political turmoil as protesters continue
to shutdown two Bangkok airports in a showdown against the government.
The survey, conducted by the leading poll agency Abac Poll Research Center,
showed that 76.5 percent of people interviewed felt very embarrassed about the
local political turmoil and the negative views of foreigners toward Thailand.
According to the survey, 65.1 percent of the interviewed people said they
would have less pride in the country, if the situation turns violent and
escalates. 92.3 percent believed political problems can be solved by the justice
system.
It also said that 58.4 percent of the people will not take sides in
politics.
