Japan's emperor Akihito, who has been diagnosed as having an irregular pulse, is now in stable condition and no restrictions have been imposed on his daily activities, Japanese media reported today.
The emperor, 74, complained of an unusual feeling in his chest two weeks ago and that his blood pressure rose last night. He canceled his duties today.
Kyodo News Agency quoted Ichiro Kanazawa, the Imperial Household Agency medical supervisor as saying that Akihito did not complain of any anomaly in the chest today and that his blood pressure has remained stable.
