Turkey condemns terrorist attack in Iraq
12/12/2008 17:31

Turkey today condemned a terrorist attack in Iraq's ethnically mixed city of Kirkuk.
Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Turkey felt sorry over the attack on a roadside restaurant which killed 47 people and injured 93 others yesterday.
The ministry said Turkey harshly condemned the villainous attack in the northern city of Kirkuk --the symbol of Iraq's ethnical richness and of Iraqi people's desire to live in peace together.
Turkey offered condolences to families of the victims.
The ministry also said Turkey was ready to provide every type of assistance for friendly Iraq to overcome this critical period in peace and security.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Abdullah Gul also harshly condemned the terrorist attack in a message to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.
