15/12/2008 17:12

A Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) destroyer and a small workboat collided today at Yokosuka port in Kanagawa Prefecture, Kyodo News reported, citing the Japan Coast Guard (JCG).
No one was hurt in the collision, and no fuel was leaked, said the report.
The accident occurred at about 8:30 am (2330 GMT) when Shirane, a 5,200-ton destroyer, touched Honeimaru No. 6, a 9.1-ton workboat.
The MSDF said that Shirane was about to sail from its base in the port for a one-day training exercise, while the workboat, according to JCG, was sailing out for a diving operation.
