Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari suspended his visit to Afghanistan
today due to bad weather, Afghan Presidential Palace said. "President Zardari
canceled the flight because of cloudy weather today," a spokesman in
Presidential Palace told reporters waiting there. He did not give any
information about when his next visit is scheduled. Zardari is expected to
meet with his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai and other high ranking government
officials during his first visit to Afghanistan since taking office. Zardari
and Karzai, according to Pakistan officials, will discuss ways to jointly combat
terrorism, which poses a common threat to the peace and security of both
states.
