US soldier killed in bomb attack in Baghdad

One US soldier was killed in a roadside bomb blast on Monday evening
in western Baghdad, the US military said in a statement on Tuesday.
"A Task
Force Baghdad Soldier died of wounds at approximately 7: 00 p.m. (1600 GMT) on
Jan. 24. The soldier sustained the injuries when a patrol was attacked with an
improvised explosive device in western Baghdad," the statement said.

than 1,370 US servicemen have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in
March 2003.
