There were three foreigners and 93 local passengers aboard the missing private airliner scheduled to fly from western Afghanistan to Kabul, Kam Air office confirmed in Kabul Friday.
"One American and two Turks were on the list of 96 passengers," Kam Air office told Xinhua. "The airliner is still missing till this point."
According to the office, there were also eight crew member on board. In addition to two Afghan flight attendants, there were also six Russian Canadian pilots and air stewardesses.
The Boeing 737 was scheduled to land in Kabul Thursday afternoon after taking off from Herat, the western city bordering Iran. Due to bad weather, the plane lost contact with air controllers since.
Conflicting news about the fate of the airliner abounded. Some said it had landed safely in neighboring Peshawar airport, or Pakistani capital of Islamabad. Others guessed it had crashed. None of them can be independently confirmed.
