Tan took part in the national treasure unveiling ceremony with the expectation of attracting the attention of emerald collectors and investors all over the world. During the exhibition lasting to the end of January next year, the Jadelink will search for buyers from around the world.

The "Love of the Earth" is a coarse jadeite with a height of 2.68 meters, a width of 1.58 meters, a thickness of 1.28 meters, and a weight of 10 tons. According to the introduction of Guo Shouguo, a jewellery appraisal expert from the East China University of Science and Technology, the coarse jadeite itself is very rare. With the consideration of its delicacy, colour, and nature, it is not exaggerative to call it "Love of the Earth" at all.

The rareness of the "Love of the Earth" also lies in its producing area: the pakkhan area of Burma, the only producing area of qualified emerald in the world. It is estimated that this coarse jade is expected to be worth 2.8 million RMB (about 41 million dollars). Its value equals to 100 Ferrari.

Different from other speculative rough and coarse jade, the natural erosion has made part of the emerald green of the "Love of the Earth" exposed, which has played a positive role in boosting the confidence of investors. The exhibition of the "Love of the Earth" together with a dozen of jewelleries (100 million RMB, about 14.65 dollars ) will last to Jan.31, 2010.

It is said by jewellery experts that the raw material of emerald is totally imported just like diamonds. For the emerald up to the national treasure level, Burma is the only producing area. Because of the the reduction of its production, the price of emerald has been increasing since 1996. So, emerald has been regarded as a financial product with the same maintaining value as the gold. Though the financial crisis in 2008 has made the warmth of emerald market cooler, a high-speed recovery emerged again in the first half year.

According to the bidding of coarse jade this March in Burma, the dealing price of a coarse jade is 130 million RMB (about 19 million dollars) with an original price of only 22 million RMB (about 3.22 million dollars). As to the information provided by the Shanghai Auction House, the dealing price of a single emeral this year is mainly between 300, 000 RMB (about 4, 395 dollars) and 1 million RMB, 20% higher than that of 2008.
