Chinese President Hu Jintao met his Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales here on Monday to discuss theexpansion of friendly and cooperative ties between China and Bolivia.
Hu and Morales were meeting on the sidelines of a series of UN meetings in New York.
In recent years, China and Bolivia have boosted cooperation in political, economic, trade, cultural and other fields. The two countries set up diplomatic relations in 1985.
Hu, who arrived here earlier in the day, will attend a UN climate change summit scheduled for Tuesday and will deliver a speech during the general debate of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the Chinese president will attend a UN Security Council summit on nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament.
He is also scheduled to participate in a financial summit of the Group of 20 in Pittsburgh on Sept. 24-25.
