The convention gathers about 87 boutique oil paintings of the late 19th century and early 20th century, all of which reveal the French naturalism through the works created by Miller, Courbet and other early artists. Oliver Sima, as the representative from Paris Orsay Museum, showed clearly that this exhibition is just a beginning to cooperate with China Art Palace and there must be further communications between the two nations in this area.

In order to fully demonstrate the surging waves of the French painting art in the late 19th century to the early 20th century, the exhibition is classified into 8 chapters as below:

Chapter 1-Scenery from Koro to Courbet

Chapter 2-Millet

Chapter 3-Realism

Chapter 4-Naturlism

Chapter 5-Artist’s Dream of Butterfly

Chapter 6-Bourgeois Charisma

Chapter 7-Children

Chapter 8 -Human Suffering

Among the works on display, the most typical representative art style is Les Glaneuses of Miller, describing the rural areas after the autumn harvest and picking up the remaining people from the fields of wheat.
