3rd China Japan Korea Children's Painting Exhibition Opens in Shanghai

Hosted by Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Japanese social education group Bellpo Organization and South Korean Busan Foundation for International Activities, the 3rd China Japan Korea Friendship Children's Painting Exhibition opens at the Children's Palace of China Welfare Institute in Shanghai on August 16, 2015.

Selected by each country's judging panels, 300 works (100 for each country) will be exhibited at the sunken square of the Children's Palace in September and October and at Shanghai World Financial Center for 2 week from late November.

The attendees of the opening ceremony include Vice President of Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Zhou Yajun, Deputy Secretary-General of China Welfare Institute Pan Yan, Cultural Consul of Japanese Consulate General in Shanghai Maekawa Chie, Cultural Consul of South Korean Consulate General in Shanghai Kim Jin Gon and other related members from the three sponsors and the Children's Palace.

This year's painting exhibition is themed with "World Peace". Zhou Yajun, Vice President of Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries said in the interview that "the theme fits with the spirit of commemorating the 70th anniversary of victory of the wars against Japanese Aggression and Fascist. The children from China, Japan and South Korea, starting from pure heart, use their paintbrushes to express the love for life, thoughts for war and expectation for peace."

Tsuru Yurika, Director General of Japanese social education group Bellpo Organization expressed her desire that the painting exhibition, with the support of the personages of all circles from the three countries, will continue to put forward the friendly exchanges among young people and citizens.

Director General of South Korean Busan Foundation for International Activities Kim Gyu Ok viewed that the exhibition is not only to display the paintings, but also to offer the stage of communication for the children from the three countries. He hopes that the children make friends and have precious memories.
