Uber enters Shanghai Free Trade Zone

Uber announces its official settlement into Shanghai Free Trade Zone on Oct. 8, 2015. Currently, it is preparing materials to apply for the license of online taxi booking platform as soon as possible.

With the registered capital of RMB 2.1 billion Yuan, the company founded by Uber in Shanghai has its Chinese name as "Wubo"(雾博)rather than "Youbu"(优步)as people supposed.

Meanwhile, Uber promises a total investment in China of RMB 6.3 billion Yuan for the commitment to the long-term stable development in this market.

According to the introduction of Uber, the American transportation network company started its operation in China from February 2014. It has entered 21 Chinese cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Hangzhou till now. In the next one year, this number will reach 100 and Uber will launch more products based on indigenous innovation.

In September this year, "Uber Commute" made its global debut in China, which is created to more effectively meet the demands of carpool for fellow passengers on the way to or from work. It was the first time for Uber releasing new function outside the United States.
