Shanghai Live  is a brand-new live news magazine show, launched by International Channel Shanghai on January 1st, 2011. As the next generation of China's first local English news program, Shanghai Live  continue to focus on major issues around the world as well as big events in town. But it tries to portray these issues and events in a more practical and audience-friendly manner, to meet the ever-evolving information demands of Shanghai's young viewers, both local and expatriate. All elements are carefully selected to give the audience not just the facts themselves, but also their practical impact on people's lives by analyzing real-life examples and conducting live interviews.

Beyond news and information, Shanghai Live  also seek to represent the viewers' lives through a portion of the program dedicated to the life of office workers. It not only focus on current topics and rules in Shanghai offices, but also invite office workers to talk about their lives in the concrete jungle. Their stories may not necessarily be thrilling, but they can resonate with the audience.

In addition, Shanghai Live also uncovers the most fashionable and stylish aspects of urban life, through stories on fashion, entertainment, sports, and food & drink. And to showcase the pioneering spirit of youthful viewers, Shanghai Live  also pioneers a new format that allows them to decide what they want most. Every day, the program  surveys a sample of the audience to ask which news events are most worthy of in-depth coverage.
