Chen Lei began work as anchor and journalist for IBS. After her time there she presented On The Town, Hello, Shanghai, Entertainment Now, On The Road for STV, Around China for CCTV, and Shanghai Bund a bilingual feature program for the Europe branch of Phoenix TV.

She has also been the bilingual MC and presenter of many international events and live shows, including Shanghai International Tourism Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, Shanghai International Arts Festival, APEC, Shanghai, Shanghai International Auto Show, L'OREAL-LYCRA Media In Style Awards Ceremony (2003, 2004) and 2007 Shanghai Creative Industry Week.

As an experienced anchor, Chen Lei has conducted many exclusive interviews her most notable to date include; renowned designer Mr. Giorgio Armani, film star Mr.Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the three tenors Mr Placido Domingo, Swedish pop group ABBA, actress Ms Sophie Marceau, super model Ms Claudia Schiffer, Spice Girl Ms Victoria Beckham, Punk designer Ms Vivienne Westwood, Director Mr Zhang Yimou, President and CEO of Cartier Mr.Bernard Fornas, Former President of Finland Mr Martti Ahtisaari and Malaysian Prime Minister Mr Mahathir Mohamed.
