With an English mother and a Hong Kong Chinese father, Isobel spent the majority of her childhood in the UK. Having finished high school with straight A-grades, she then spent a year abroad, funding her travels by working as a model for numerous fashion brands. While living in Asia, she also worked as an editor for various lifestyle publications. Returning to the UK to continue her studies, she accepted her place at the University of Nottingham–where she studied both in the UK and China campuses. She graduated three years later receiving a first class degree along with the University Award for outstanding achievement in her subject.
Isobel moved to Shanghai in 2009, working as a freelance writer before gaining experience with a French events company. She has also worked as a content editor and host for ITV-Asia, generating creative content for the internet-based TV channel. Most recently, Isobel has joined International Channel Shanghai, working as a host and editor for‘Getaway’. While furthering her career in broadcast journalism, the job also allows her to travel extensively, both in and out of China. Besides travel, one of Isobel’s main passions is writing and she continues to contribute to several international journals and magazines.
