As one of the symbolic cultural buildings in Shanghai, Shanghai Grand Theatre was completed in 1998. It is one of the largest theatres in Asia and one of the most advanced ones in the world. Some word class classical performances had been presented here, such as concerts of Carreras, Jose Placido Domingo, Pavarotti and some musicals like“Les Miserables”, The Phantom of the opera“The Lion King”and so on. The theatre’s white are crown-like roof looks like a cornucopia, standing for Shanghai’s broadmindedness to absorb the world culture and arts.
