New-energy vehicles become the highlight of the 16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition which is held from April 20 to 29, 2015 in Shanghai. A record high of 103 new-energy cars from domestic and foreign companies are exhibited at the show, including BYD plug-in SUV, BMW X5 hybrid electric vehicle and Mercedes Benz GLE.

According to a research released on April 20 by Shanghai Bureau of Statistics, 43.8% of the citizens may consider buying new-energy cars, and more than 60% of the interviewees think that "buying new-energy vehicle and get free Shanghai license plates" is the most substantial favored policy.
