Agnes Smedley
Agnes Smedley is a well-known American journalist, writer, and social activist, and an outstanding woman. She came to Shanghai as a journalist in early 1929 through the introduction of a German communist. She then came to know some Chinese cultural celebrities such as Lu Xun, and helped Song Qingling with documents. In addition to the battle reports, she also contributed to the resistance against Japanese aggression in many areas, such as assisting Sorge in rapidly establishing intelligence network in Shanghai and striving for the international medical support for China.
