Gao was a jazz dancer in 2008. He happened to know pole dance in a pub, “it’s amazing,” said Gao and then he try to learn this kind of dance. “It was really a hard time and my body got a mass of bruises,” said Gao. But he didn’t give up and finally made it. The 3-meter-high pole becomes his most intimate partner thereafter. (Eastday/Jiang Wenran)
