Jino people beating drum to celebrate Te Mao Ke Festival

The annual ceremony of beating drum kicked off to the cheerful rhythms of the Jino’s distinctive folk songs in the evening on February 6, 2015. It was just over 8 p.m., almost all the Jino people, both men and women, old and young came outside and gathered together to attend the ceremony. Holding torches in hands, local youngsters were ready to meet and see off their big drum which symbolized auspicious omen.
