Changzhou comb is known as "Combs for Imperial Court". It is famous both at home and abroad for its materials , superb techniques, good workmanship and unique functions. It was awarded Gold Medal at the Panama Peace Exhibition in 1915 and Silver Medal at the International Exhibition in Philadelphia in 1926. Now it is selected as Shanghai Expo Licensed Products for Sale . Changzhou Comb is made of natural waterials by hand. It is highly famed for good workmanship and selected materials. Wooden combs are mainly made of precious wood, such as boxwood, sandal wood, Chinese photinia, cherry wood, etc. They are not only a necessity for daily use, but also a work of art to appreciate. Fine tooth combs are made of the skin of sturdy bamboo glued with lacquer and smoothed out. They were used to remove hair dirty and make hair smooth in ancient time.
