Star athlete Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan failed to defend the title in the Men's Free Skating segment of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2015 at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai on March 28, 2015. He took the silver medal with 271.08 points in total. Javier Fernandez of Spain grabbed the gold.
