The much-anticipated Shanghai Color Run kicked off on Sept 27, 2014 at the Oriental Sports Center in Pudong New Area.

Originated in U.S. in 2011, the Color Run is hailed as "the happiest 5 kilometers on the planet". It is not timed; instead participants are doused with colors from head to toe at every kilometer.

Since the Shanghai Color Run enjoyed great popularity, thousands of the tickets at the prices ranging from 168 yuan (US$27) to 208 yuan had been sold out in 8 minutes.

The Color Run is getting popular in China these years. It was its first time coming to Shanghai.

9月27日，备受关注的 “彩色跑”上海站在东方体育中心开跑。

“彩色跑”，2011年发源于美国，被称为“地球上最欢乐的5公里”，近年来在国内愈加流行。这是“彩色跑”第一次来到上海。与追求速度不同，“彩色跑”不计时，跑者每一公里经过一个色彩站，从头到脚都会被抛洒上不同的颜色。

之前，由于粉丝众多，仅8分钟，数千张价值168元至208元的“彩色跑”名额就被抢光。
