Greenery accounts for half of the village

According to the officer of the management department of Expo village, greenery accounts for more than 50 percent of the whole village, including not only the plants along the road, but the“green park”in the central platform.

All the seven buildings in Jingjiang are interconnected, and the passage is the hanging garden outside the second floor. Magnolia and flowering cherry both bloom in the garden. When it gets warmer, it will be great to have a party or hang out here.

In Donghu, green is also the main color. The 17 buildings are on a gradient. On the first gradient, there are five 8-storey buildings; on the second one, six 10-storey to 15-storey buildings; on the third one, six 16-storey to 20-storey buildings. Altogether there are 2113 rooms and 814 apartments.

In the open space between buildings, branches hung from the willows dance with the wind. In addition, a children playground can be found in the neighborhood. Since the village is comparatively large, some electromobiles are parked outside the lobby for the convenience of the residents (the staff of the Expo participants). "Sometimes eletromobiles are used to take the residents to work or grab the take-out", said the officer.

What is the most attractive part of Expo village? The incomparable view of Huangpu River. That is for sure.

Standing inside building 5 in Donghu Service Apartment and looking outside, one can have a bird’s eye view of the beautiful scenery along Huangpu River and in Lu Jiazui. What’s more, standing in the room and looking beyond, one can have a panoramic view of the China Pavilion. According to the staff in Donghu, the scenery along Huangpu River is available from each room, and on the 19th floor, one can catch the sight of the Expo site.

Then we went to a duplex in building 2 in Donghu. The spiral staircase at the entrance caught our eye at the first sight. Apart from guest room, sitting room and bathroom, there is a single kitchen on the first floor. All varieties of tableware are available in the kitchen. Climbing up the spiral staircase, you will see a big balcony from where the scenery along Huangpu River is for you to enjoy.
