First Southeast Asian breast cancer center to be opened in Thailand

Thailand is chosen to host the first breast cancer center in Southeast Asia, according to a report of Chulalongkorn Hospital available Thursday.

Krit Chadamara,a specialist of the hospital, was quoted as saying that the first specialist breast cancer center would be opened in Bangkok next year.

The center would conduct research on breast cancer and transfer knowledge to other hospitals and institutes in the region,he stated.

The regional breast cancer center would also provide consulting and treatment facilities to patients,he disclosed.

Krit suggested that women examine their breasts regularly, saying that lumps or even breast cancer could be cured without the feared breast removal if they were detected in the early stage.
