Tsingtao Brewery Co Ltd has recently launched its southeast China branch in Fujian province to tap into southeast China's beer market, according to today's homeway.com.

This is the eighth branch Tsingtao has set up. With two breweries in the province's Fuzhou and Xiamen, the branch is capable to output 400,000 tons of beer each year.

Tsingtao aims to enhance the yearly capacity to 800,000 tons in three to five years.

The two companies already take 20 percent of Fujian's beer market.

The branch also includes two sales companies in Fuzhou and Xiamen.

Fujian consumed 1.28 million tons of beer in 2001. Local breweries are dominating its beer market, according to analysts.
