17 teams registered for first-ever international cycling race around Qinghai Lake

Altogether 102 players from 17 teams have been registered for competing in the first-ever Tour of Qinghai Lake international cycling race, to be held from July 27 to August 6 in Qinghai Province, northwest China,organizers said here on Tuesday.

Among the 17 teams, eight are Europe, namely, France's Aquitaine, Germany's Munich, Switzerland's national team, Spain's P. Artevi, the Netherlands' Marcopolo and Tegeltoko, Belgium's P. Coolstiot, and a Serbian team.

Other foreign teams include a mixed one from the United States,and the national teams from Canada, South Africa, Australia, Japanand South Korea.

China has sent its national team, Qinghai provincial team, and the Hong Kong team to participate in the race.

Qinghai Lake, on an average altitude of about 3,200 meters, is the largest salt lake in China. The athletes will race through diverse terrain, changeful climate, low pressure and oxygen content.
