Brazilian tennis player Gustavo Kuerten, formerly world's number one, will participate in Stuttgart Open, Tuesday said his coach Larri Passos.

Kuerten, who has not won any match since the operation he underwent in the middle of last season, this year has participatedin six tournaments and has not played an official match since his elimination in Roland Garros, last May.

He dedicated the last 30 days to train in hometown Florianopolis, in southern Brazil, and will do his best in the second half of the year, Passos told the press.

The Brazilian player, who currently is ranked 58th in the ATP-Tour list, is scheduled to go to Stuttgart next Thursday.
