No letup in wet weather

While neighboring Jiangsu Province stepped out of its plum rain season yesterday, local meteorologists confirmed that Shanghai residents may have to endure the rainy spell at least through tomorrow.

Today's high is expected to be 30 degrees Celsius, while the low could be 24 degrees, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said. Thanks to a hig- pressure system bringing cloudy days, the average temperature this week might hover around 26 to 27 degrees Celsius, while the mercury could touch 34 degrees at its maximum. Meteorologists warned of three active tropical storms in the Pacific Ocean, which may bring big rainstorms in the near future.
