China's Tsingtao beer has captured nearly 5 percent of the Taiwanese market just three months after the island province dropped a five-decade ban on importing beer from the mainland, The Associated Press reported, citing the vice president of Taiwan Tsingtao Brewery Corp. More than 14 million cans of Tsingtao have been sold in Taiwan since April, mostly at convenience stores, restaurants and the seafood stalls of night markets, Peter Tsai said.
