Anna Kournikova will arrive in Shanghai today, aiming for her first singles title at the Polo Open - the only WTA event on the mainland - which kicks off on Monday at the Xian Xia Tennis Center.

The Russian, flying in from Los Angeles, is scheduled to land at 5:40 p.m. at Pudong Inter-national Airport. With new coach Harold Solomon for company, the blonde will have six or more hours of training each day before the event begins. Kournikova lost in the first round of the U.S. Open to Indonesian Angelique Widjaja, and reached the fourth round with Martina Hingis in the doubles. She will play both singles and doubles on her maiden trip to the mainland.
