China continued their diving golden sweep at the 22nd World University Games on Monday as world champion Wang Feng claimed the men's 1-meter springboard title.
The 24-year-old Wang,claiming the men'synchronized 3m springboard title at the Barcelona World Championships last month,pulled off 449.19points to win the gold in his third Universiade.
Wang Tianling,Wang's partner in synchronized 3m event,had to settle for silver 429.48while world bronze medalist Tobias Schellenberg of Germany finished a distant third in 387.63.
Coming second in this event in last Universiade in Beijing,Wang Feng said he was happy with the golden redemption.
"I did well today and I felt my form was even better than it had been in the world championships,"said Wang,who is in the preparatory year at the People's University,a major university inBeijing.
