China hopes the Beijing six-party talks to continue and yield peace,said Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang made the remarks in an interview with reporters from five major Chinese media organizations here Tuesday afternoon in replying questions concerning the upcoming six-party talks on the Korean nuclear issue.
He said China hopes all parties will take into consideration the general situation of safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean peninsula,show sincerity to solve the issue,adopt a calm and patient attitude,respect each other,conduct consultations on an equal footing,seek common grounds,and reduce disputes,so as to ensure the talks to continue and yield peace.
Wang,also head of the Chinese delegation to the talks scheduled to open here Wednesday morning,has been in charge of policy study and Asian affairs since assuming office in 2001.
