China urges favorable environment for solution of nuclear issue 29/8/2003

hinese Vice-Foreign Minister WangYi said here Friday that all relevant sides should help create a favorable environment for the process of resolving the Korean nuclear issue.

Wang said at a press conference that China hopes all relevant sides should play an positive role in promoting the process of resolving the Korean nuclear issue peacefully.

The three-day six-party talks among China,the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK),the United States,the Republicof Korea,Russia and Japan wrapped up Friday noon.

Wang said all six sides of the talks have pledged that they will not take any action that may escalate the tension of situation while the talks continue.He said it was a consensus reached at the talks.

The six sides have agreed to hold a new round of six-party talks,with the date and venue to be decided through diplomatic channels.
