During the six-party talks, parties have come to understand "to different degrees"that while the nuclear issue should be resolved, the DPRK's reasonable security concerns should also be solved, said Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Wang, also head of the Chinese delegation to the talks, said ata press conference after the conclusion of the event that China has always insisted that the Korean peninsula should be nuclear-free,and meanwhile the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s reasonable security concerns should also be reasonably solved.

He added that such a stance is conducive to the peninsula's peace and stability, and China is pleased to see that its rightful proposition on the issue is winning support from all sides.

As to what are the DPRK's security concerns and how to resolve them, these are issues that should be discussed in following talks,he said.

He noted that safeguarding the peninsula's peace and stability is China's basic principle in dealing with peninsula affairs, and the United States also hopes the peninsula will maintain stability.

China is willing to work with the United States and all other nations dedicated to security on the peninsula to safeguard the region's peace and stability.
