There would be no new blowout in the gas well which has just been capped,predicted Gao Deli,professor of oil and gas from China Oil University in Beijing on Saturday.

The success of cap operation in the No.16gas well in Kaixian county,southwest China's Chongqing Municipality,means the well will keep a pressure balance and the blowout has been under control,said Gao.

Besides,in the well more than 400meters deep,the pressure balance will be quite stable and there would be no new blowout,said Gao.

The toxic gas in the air will be reduced and finally dispersed with anti-chemical operation.Local residents who have evacuated are expected to return home after a period of observation when the environment is cleared and strict protection measures are taken,said Gao.
