Around 300 poultry breeders and veterinarians from the greater Jakarta staged rally on Tuesday in Hotel Indonesia circle in Thamrin street to socialize that consuming chicken meat and egg is healthy.

In the rally, the demonstrators distributed chicken meat and egg to drivers of cars and buses passing the street, to show that it is healthy to consume chicken meat and egg.

They also carried banners which, among other things, said, " Chicken meat and egg can make people clever."

The Indonesian Ministry of Health on Wednesday said that it has not found any bird flu disease or avian influenza virus in human in the country.

The government confirmed last month the bird flu outbreak in the country.

Around 4.7 million hens have died since August -- 60 percent died of Newcastle disease and 40 percent of a combination of Newcastle disease and avian influenza -- and at least 400 farms have been afflicted by the outbreak.
