Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat announced on Saturday that he doesn't care about Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's threats to target him, but said he cares more about the suffering of his people.
This was the first time that Arafat officially reacts to the threats of Sharon. He told reporters in his partially destroyed headquarters "I'm not worried about myself, I'm worried about my people's suffering."
Arafat termed the Israeli attack on the Palestinian Muslim prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on Friday as a "crime", during which dozens of prayers were wounded."
"This aggressive attack on our holy sites for Muslims and Christians is continuing for years, adding "what happened into the yard of the mosque is a real crime against prayers while they were praying," said Arafat.
