The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) warned on Tuesday that internal conflicts among Palestinians might come about after Israel withdraws from the Gaza Strip.
"Following Israeli premier Ariel Sharon's plans would only create sedition among Palestinians that would lead to internal conflicts between the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and the factions about the administration of the Gaza Strip," said Maher Al-Taher, member of the PFLP's political bureau.
Al-Taher stressed the necessity of Palestinian unity at the public and political levels, calling on forming a join Palestinian political agenda in order to face the Israeli challenges.
He also called on Israel to evacuate the Gaza Strip and pull out to its pre-June 1967 borders, saying that the Israeli evacuation should be completed without any terms and in accordance with international legislations and resolutions.
"What made Sharon think about evacuating the Gaza Strip was the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their determination to resume the intifada (uprising) for the fourth year running," Al- Taher said.
