A Palestinian official warned Wednesday that any deal reached between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and US President George W. Bush would be very dangerous.
Yasser Abed Rabbo, a member of executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said Palestinian leadership had received information that Sharon is planning to reach a deal with Bush on his disengagement plan.
The deal would deprive Palestinian refugees of the right of return and end all the related international resolutions for the Palestinian cause, including the roadmap peace plan, he said.
"The deal of implementing a unilateral plan of disengagement with the Palestinians means accepting the annexation of wide areas in the West Bank, where Jewish settlements were illegally built," he said.
The United States "doesn't want this solution, but Israel wants to impose it on the Palestinian people," he asserted, adding that the Palestinian leadership totally rejects the plan and would never deal with it.
"The Palestinian leadership would take all possible measures and exceptional steps to confront Sharon's plans. We are living in a crucial movement that the Palestinian people have never passed before," Rabbo said.
Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei said earlier that the Palestinian National Authority had started contacts with all Arab countries and international organizations to stop Sharon's plan.
"Anything that destroys the Palestinians' just cause and the legal rights of the Palestinian people would be a destruction to the roadmap plan and the future of peace in the entire region," said Qurei.
