The coir fiber ware is kind of unique south China folk craft, using the fresh palm leaf as material.After the process of boiling , exposing to the sun and so on, the work is endowed with the quality of insects, musty and corrosion proof, and thus can be preserved for long time. Changsha coir fiber ware takes the old palm leaf and the palm leaf core as raw material, after processing, make out toys of dragonfly, grasshopper, frog, shrimp, centipede, turtle, snake , gold fish, chicken, crane, peacock, phoenis and so on.
The unique "double belly" knitting method makes the animal shape more lifelike, having better stereoscopic effect. In animal's modeling, the former stereotypical modeling has been broken through, and the proper exaggeration renders the work more charm. For example, in crane modeling, through lengthen processing to crane's neck and foot, make crane modeling more exquisite, to better manifest the crane's slim and gracefully exquisite shape.
