Cixin Liu’s Hugo Award-winning science fiction novel “The Three-Body Problem” (translated into English by Ken Liu) has taken on a new form in China: 3D stage play. Sci-fi lovers in Shanghai will be able to enjoy the show at the Majestic Theatre between April 25 and April 29.

Since it debuted at SAIC-Shanghai Culture Square in June 2016, the 3D stage play presented by Lotus Lee Drama Studio has been well-received. It has toured more than 20 cities, giving nearly 100 performances and winning overwhelming success. This April, it is to hit the stage in Shanghai again.

Based on the famous novel “The Three-Body Problem,” the 3D drama becomes livelier on stage with cutting-edge technologies. Spectators will see a mesmerizing stage loaded with 3D mapping, virtual reality, drones, veil projection and first-rate audiovisual effects.

Last November, the stage play was honored the Chinese Science Fiction Galaxy Award for the best adaption, and last December, it won the Chinese Theatre Award for the most innovative play.
